Faroese Prime Minister: Whaling is sustainable and fully regulated
Faroe Islands prime minister Kaj Leo Holm Johannesen responded to protests against the countries’ whaling practices in a statement issued Wednesday.
This comes as protests arise over the killing of pilot whales, allowed by the Faroe Islands.
In a letter to the editor published by the Oxford Mail ( www.oxfordmail.co.uk/news/opin… ), one reader said an estimated 150 whales were slaughtered on June 6 on the island of Vagar, in the northwest of the Faroe Islands archipelago, and described it as a “one of the bloodiest grinds in at least two years” …
