PETA campaigner Claire Fyre is animal welfare campaigner by day, cage fighter by night
REBEKAH CAVANAGH
Sunday Herald Sun
BY day she campaigns for animal rights as a spokeswoman for activist group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.
But by night she’s belting the living daylights out of humans as one of the top fighters in the bloody sport of UFC, where she goes by the nickname “Killer Bear”.
Claire Fryer’s unusual choice of night job is not lost on Victorians she has been attacking in her role with PETA …

PETA’s lies and the truth about shearing
By Aaron
I guess it comes as no surprise that I’m Facebook friends with a LOT of people who keep flocks of fiber producing animals, and over the last couple of weeks I’ve seen many of them expressing their outrage over PETA’s latest bit of anti-wool propaganda. This “ad” shows a man holding what appears to be a bloodied lamb with large patches of skin missing with the caption “Here’s the rest of your wool coat.” There’s a huge problem though, the lamb is a prop made of foam ( www.dailymail.co.uk/news/artic… ) …

These 5 Lab Animal Rescue Videos Are Sure to Make Your Day!
There are over 100 million animals suffering ( hsi.org/campaigns/end_animal_t… ) in laboratories across the world. These animals are used for a variety of purposes ranging from testing for the toxicity of pharmaceuticals to determining if chemicals used in cosmetics ( www.onegreenplanet.org/animals… ) are safe for human use. Animals are also kept in labs for other sorts of medical research where they are subjected to painful surgeries and procedures. No matter what industry these animals are used in, they experience an immeasurable amount of cruelty ( www.onegreenplanet.org/animals… ). These animals spend their entire lives in small cages ( www.onegreenplanet.org/animals… ) where they are deprived of the most basic necessities and separated from their families. Further, these animals will never be able to comprehend why they are being held in these places or know if there will ever be a life outside of constant fear and suffering …

World Day for Animals in Labs: April 24, 2015
Raise Awareness
Two years ago, almost to the day, Harvard Medical School announced that it was closing the New England Primate Research Center (NEPRC), one of the oldest primate labs operating in the U.S. The news came following the deaths of four monkeys and reports that the lab had violated animal welfare laws.
When the public learned about the animal suffering occurring at NEPRC, many were shocked. But the unfortunate reality is that millions of animals suffer in labs around the world, and too few are aware of it.
What can you do? Help raise awareness!
