PETA founder ‘tortured’ in protest of MoD’s tests on animals

In Trafalgar Square today, PETA ( www.femalefirst.co.uk/peta/ ) founder Ingrid Newkirk was restrained to a medieval torture device and fitted with a gas mask. This was hooked up to tanks of “toxic chemicals”.
It was all done in protest of the Ministry of Defence’s (MoD) recent laboratory tests on monkeys.
It was recently revealed that 57 monkeys endured cruel and deadly laboratory tests. The protest comes just days ahead of World Day for Animals in Laboratories on 23 April. …
